Clinical fellow FY3-CMT2 in Speciality Medicine

Clinical fellow (FY3-CMT2) in Speciality Medicine

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated clinical fellow to work in key specialist and medical in-patients, including Gastroenterology/Hepatology, Diabetes/Metabolic and Respiratory Medicine.

The advertised post is for a clinical fellow post based predominantly in the Royal London Hospital. This post would be suitable for doctors who are looking to gain further experience in general acute medicine and also in the key medical specialties.

The Royal London is part of Barts Health NHS Trust – the largest NHS trust in the country serving a diverse population in terms of socioeconomic conditions and ethnicity. It offers many secondary and tertiary referral services for NE London and Essex for a range of specialist medical conditions. The post holder will get to work with some of the largest, most specialised departments, which manage some of the most complex patients in the sector.

This is a 1.0 WTE post. Clinical responsibilities include in-patient responsibility across the specialties – working alongside the junior teams, and participation in the acute medicine rota. There is excellent teaching available for PACES and post graduate exams with protected teaching for juniors. Barts Health NHS Trust is aligned with QMUL, where there are excellent opportunities to engage in undergraduate teaching portfolios and form research links.

The departments run highly successful specialist trainee program and the consultants are all committed to junior doctor mentoring, welfare and supervision.

You should be fully registered with the GMC and have completed Foundation Year competencies (or equivalent) and be enthusiastic and hard working. This post will suit a doctor who wishes to gain further experience of acute and specialist medicine and is planning a career in acute medicine or a medical specialty.
