The programme provides training in all aspects of Oncology. Under the supervision of the Oncology Consultants and Specialty Trainees, the Clinical Development Fellows will be expected to participate in the management of patients with cancer at a ward level. Opportunities are also available for access to outpatient clinics, radiotherapy, an Acute Oncology Assessment Unit and a High Acuity Unit. One of the key components of the Clinical Development Fellowship is the role for career development. During the post, there will be the opportunity for the Clinical Development Fellows to enhance their CV. At least one of the Clinical Development Fellowships will have a specific Palliative Medicine component. It is expected that candidates applying for these posts will be planning to pursue a career in Palliative Medicine. Time will be set aside whereby the Palliative Medicine Clinical Development Fellow(s) will work directly with the BWSCC Hospital Palliative Care team. It is desirable that candidates possess MRCP (UK/I) or equivalent by commencement of post. Experience in Oncology or Palliative Medicine would also be advantageous.
