Deaf male services – up to £45,000pa DOE
Are you a forensic psychologist or a clinical psychologist with forensic experience? If so we would love for you to join our team at Cygnet Bury.
Cygnet Hospital Bury offers two low secure services for deaf men – West Hampton and Bridge Hampton. Both wards support men experiencing complex mental illness and/or personality disorder, who are Deaf BSL users. Service users on Bridge Hampton also have a Learning Disability and/or ASC. Although some previous knowledge of deafness and BSL is an advantage, full training and support will be given, including the opportunity to learn BSL and work with our team of highly skilled interpreters and Deaf staff.
The service accept direct admissions from the community, from rehabilitation or acute services and has good links with Deaf services nationally.

Each unit provides an exceptionally high standard of accommodation. Patients have their own bedroom and en-suite bathroom offering maximum privacy. This is further enhanced by spacious lounges, therapy rooms, occupational therapy kitchen, gym and laundry facilities. Units also have gardens, which are designed by the patients.
We provide challenging but ultimately rewarding environments in which to work. Our teams of consultants, doctors, RMN’s, therapists and support workers deliver recovery based and outcomes focused care to our service users and support them to move along their care pathway. You’ll need to have exceptional clinical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a busy team.
You will provide a high quality clinical psychology service within the highly specialised field of Deaf Forensic and Rehabilitation Services and work continuously and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within Cygnet Hospital Bury. The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with other members of the MDT, and effectively contribute to the provision and continued development of an effective patient therapy programme.
