An accountancy practice in Tunbridge Wells is looking for an experienced Client Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will be either ACCA or ACA qualified with around 5 years of post-qualification experience. CTA would be a distinct advantage, as this is a tax-focused practice.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage client portfolio (mainly OMB) – companies, partnerships, LLPs, trusts, individuals - up to partner review stage.

  • Manage and complete all tax and accounting compliance requirements – statutory accounts, confirmation statements, tax returns (company, partnership, individual, trusts, CIS), and oversee payroll.

  • Attend client meetings and provide routine tax planning advice and ensure that partner business structure and tax advice is implemented correctly.

  • Use of IRIS Accounts Production, Business Tax, Personal Tax, Trust Tax.

  • Managing client billing and debt collection.

  • General client portfolio management to take control of jobs from the initial request of information through to partner review.

  • Provide quotes to potential new clients and liaise with them in respect of their tax and accounting requirements.

  • Scope to develop tax consultancy role depending on experience/expertise.

Hands on experience in practice is a must as the role will involve training others. Iris, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks are used by the firm, so a working knowledge of these software packages would be advantageous.

This is a full time permanent role and normal office hours are 9-5.30pm. Some remote working may be a possibility in the future – however, you will be involved with helping train a newly qualified ACCA, so initially you will need to be office-based full time. The firm will pay for offsite parking 5 minutes from the office – there is also a bus stop outside or the train station is a 10 minute walk away.

25 days holiday plus bank holidays and the firm offer a mobile phone, pension, paid overtime/TOIL (to be agreed in advance) and discretionary bonus. Salary is dependent on experience within the £40-55k range. Start date as soon as possible.

When applying please specify:

  • Current salary and notice period.

  • Reasons for leaving your present role (if working).

  • Ensure you have identified any practice roles you have had to date (as opposed to industry roles).

  • Detail your qualifications - e.g. if you are ACCA qualified, how many years of post-qualification experience do you have?

  • Your home address and postcode (postcode at the very least). If you are not near to the role are you planning to relocate?

  • What you are looking for in a new position yourself - i.e. why you are looking at this role - what is it that has caught your eye (e.g. location, opportunity, higher salary etc.)

  • Full details of accounting software used to date.
