£1,721 per annum for working 4 hours per week based at Alpha Rd, Chobham, Woking, GU24 8NE.

We are looking to appoint a Clerk to Governors who will be accountable to the Chair of Governors/all members of the Board of Governors. As the successful candidate, you will work effectively with the Headteacher and other Governors and will be responsible for advising the Governors on constitutional matters, duties and powers and will working within the broad current legislative framework.

A Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate will be required for all posts. This post will be subject to enhanced checks as part of our Prevent Duty.

About the Role

£1,721 actual salary 4 hours per week, 39 weeks per year Wishmore Cross Academy, part of Academies Enterprise Trust

(AET), is a residential special school in Chobham, Surrey, for boys aged 9 to 16 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. We are a 'good' academy with 'outstanding' features. A small academy with a strong team spirit, we invest in our staff by providing regular CPD. We are located within easy reach of the M25 and M3 and although in Surrey, we are very close to Berkshire and Hampshire.

Currently we can admit up to 70 boys and can offer up to 14 residential places (including extended days) on a flexible basis for up to 4 nights per week. We have a board of Governors made up of Academy Peer Principals. There are two sub committees as well as the full governing body that meet termly. All meetings take place in the evenings on Academy premises during the Academy day.

We are looking to appoint a Clerk to Governors who will be accountable to the Chair of Governors/all members of the Board of Governors. As the successful candidate, you will work effectively with the Headteacher and other Governors and will be responsible for advising the Governors on constitutional matters, duties and powers and will working within the broad current legislative framework. You will secure the continuity of the Board of Governors business and observe confidentiality requirements.

You will have experience of writing agendas, taking minutes and organising meetings but support will be provided if you are new to educational clerking.
