Your New Contract
Will have you undertaking as lead consultant in a highly technical role. Your knowledge of procedural and legislative matters concerning construction will have you inspecting a diverse property portfolio! As the model Clerk of Works you will carry out inspections on ensuring client standards, and schedules are conducted in line with the architects specifications. Your new role will be situated in the capital programmes and property division of this large public sector body.
Your new team Capital Programmes and Property Division
The division is responsible for the delivery of all Education, Highways, Housing and Major Works capital projects. This team will design and deliver major and minor construction projects in the specified areas. This division will perform the role of Corporate Landlord for the operational estate, ensuring that these corporate assets are effectively managed and maintained. The Estate will be managed as a key corporate asset, in order to support a sustainable growth and maintain continual. The division will be responsible for ensuring that the organisations statutory duties are discharged in a timely and appropriate manner.
What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of highway and general civil engineering construction, materials, specifications, procedures, techniques, standards, related legislation, basic highway design principles, conditions of contract and methods of measurement.
* An ability to recognise and understand engineering problems and to develop solutions.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* An ability to manage own workload and to work to deadlines.
* Ability to accurately measure and set out construction works.
* Good numeracy skills and ability to calculate quantities and prepare contract payments from measured quantities, unit rates, activity schedules and actual costs.
