In North Lanarkshire, we’re ambitious. Ambitious for our residents and the people who work here. Ambitious for our services and the people who provide them. Ambitious for our communities and partners.

Enterprise and Communities has redesigned its services to deliver the council`s priority outcomes and meet the changing needs of our communities. As the 4th largest authority in Scotland and the largest local authority landlord, we are used to delivering a highly responsive service to our tenants and customers. We want to do more and have hugely ambitious plans to regenerate our communities, build new homes, develop Smarter Homes, create employment, attract investment to North Lanarkshire, prevent homelessness and sustain tenancies.

Based within the Cumbernauld area you will be working within a multi disciplinary environment, responsible for the provision of the design and contract administration of refurbishment projects within Housing Property & Projects Services. Due to the geographical spread of the on-site workload, travel throughout North Lanarkshire will be required.

An SVQ Level 3/HNC/ Apprenticeship or equivalent in a Building related discipline is essential. Membership of Institute of Clerk of Works is desirable. Extended relevant experience of site supervision or Clerk of Works or Building trade experience is essential.

You should also be a good communicator with knowledge of current building regulations and Health & Safety legislation. Local Authority experience with experience of refurbishment and large scale kitchen installation projects is desirable.

As a Clerk or Works, you may be required to participate in a rota to facilitate the out of hours’ response service during evenings and weekends.
