As a Cleaning Operative you will be:

  • Reporting to the team leader of the Technical Services
  • Collecting, picking and sweeping up of litter and waste materials from all areas of the Desford site as directed by the Utilities' team leader and supervisor
  • Transport of the material by hand-pushed barrow to the site waste compound for disposal
  • Loading pallets or trailers with heavier items of waste such as metal and wood for collection by tow unit drivers
  • Attending training and communication meetings as scheduled
  • Assisting in unblocking drains and the subsequent clean-up
  • Supporting the Utilities Department in other occasional ad hoc activities such as setting out chairs for all employee meetings and relocating office furniture as required

Suitable applicants will have:

  • Cleaning/ Hygiene Experience
  • Manual Handling experience
  • Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively
  • Awareness of health and safety

As a Paint plant Operative you will receive:

  • Up to 28 days holiday, rising to 35 days after 12 weeks service (inc. public Hols)
  • Regular Performance review and recognition schemes
  • Full induction and ongoing training
  • Auto Pension scheme enrolment

The normal working week is:

  • 6am - 2pm - Monday - Friday
