Cleaner/Caretaker 2 days

The Oxford City Council are looking for a part time Cleaner/Caretaker to join them at their Marsh Road, Cowley location.

Start – ASAP
End - June 2018
Working Location – Marsh Road, Cowley
Working hours – 14.5 per week Thursday –08.00-16.00 (30 min break) Friday –08.00-15.30 (30 min break)

Role purpose
 The Cleaner/Caretakers are responsible for keeping the depot clean, well-stocked and presentable.
 To provide an efficient and high quality cleaning and caretaking service as part of the Facilities Management team in the Direct Services Depot locations
 To undertake general cleaning such as mopping, carpet cleaning and restocking vending machine.
 To undertake general caretaking and low-level maintenance tasks such as replacement bulbs, meeting room set-ups and fire alarm sounder testing.

Role responsibilities and main duties
 Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the depots.
 Working across multiple buildings requiring the significant use of stairs and use of cleaning equipment.
 Cleaning offices, meeting rooms, corridors, staircases and common-use areas.
 Cleaning & restocking kitchens, changing rooms & toilet areas.
 Clearing and emptying waste bins and separating recyclables.
 Treating and polishing appropriate areas on a regular basis.
 Tidying of external building areas including litter picking and removal of small weeds.
 Carrying out support tasks to the Depot Maintenance Officer e.g. fire alarm sounder testing and outlet flushing.
 Undertaking general unskilled maintenance tasks as required.
 Providing cover for locking up and securing depot buildings at Cowley Marsh and Horspath Road depots.
 Setting up rooms for meetings/training and ensuring that refreshments are available as required.
 To act as a Fire Warden.
 Supporting and assisting operational staff during periods of adverse weather.
 Any other duties of a similar nature which might reasonably be expected of a person holding this level of responsibility as determined by the Senior Caretaker.
