Classified Sales Executive

My client is a leading Publishing and Events Company to a vast range of clients

Due to expansion they are now looking for a Classified Sales Executive to join their successful team

Job Purpose

To work within the Sales Team selling advertising solutions by telephone within the portfolio of products to set objectives and targets. This will involve managing existing clients and identifying and securing new business across the magazine and associated shows.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Maximise advertising revenues against monthly targets across Company brands ensuring classified budgets/call targets are achieved/exceeded
  • To identify and develop new business opportunities both in print and online
  • To review and monitor competitive publications to identify new leads to ensure they retain the market leading position in for both volume and client count
  • To contact existing and potential clients to ensure business is both maximised and growth is achieved
  • Customer relationship management/service MUST be at the centre of all sales objectives to ensure we provide excellent customer service/contact to strength classified sales efforts across the portfolio: This covers both client retention and securing of new business
  • Increase marketshare position of all classified sections, both print and online
  • Attend relevant consumer and B2B shows and events as and when required

Knowledge and Experience

  • Able to demonstrate excellent classified sales skills with a proven track record of success to include negotiation, ability to work under pressure, time management and strong sense of self-motivation
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers at all levels demonstrating excellent levels of professionalism and continually seeks opportunities
  • Works effectively within tight timeframes to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Demonstrates a systematic approach to organisation and administration
  • Proactive with a 'can do’ attitude and an excellent common sense approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrates excellent commitment to business goals and objectives
  • Builds relationships at all levels, analyses customer behaviour and adapts own behaviours to provide excellent customer service
  • Has a flexible and adaptable style to maximise all sales opportunities and maintains positive relationships with all internal departments involved in the sales process

Knowledge of:

Sales and negotiation techniques up to senior levels

Customer relationship management

Clear and well thought out proposal writing to senior level

Experience:

Relevant experience in print/publishing preferred

Proven track record in a sales environment - B2B and B2C

Preferably classified sales experience
