CLASS 2 HGV DRIVERS NEEDED AT BIRMINGHAM AIRPORT
IMMEDIATE INDUCTIONS AVAILABLE
You will be working with a global provider of catering and retail products to a variety of departing airlines. With over 17 locations they cater to more than 440 flights per day. Working as a Class 2 driver you will have a vital role ensuring that all flights are fully catered to and depart on time. This will involve loading the 17 tonne rigid vehicle with catering equipment from the airport side location which you will be driving airside and then loading onto the departing plane.
Due to the physical nature of the role you will be required to do a lot of lifting, bending and stretching with only a small percentage of your time driving. The role will also require you to liaise with cabin crew from a variety of airlines we serve, to facilitate the transfer of catering equipment to and from your vehicle.
- Class 2 Licence (C) with less than 6 points
- A flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
- A team player as you will be working as part of a team in a fast moving environment where deadlines are tight to ensure flights depart on time.
- Basic numeracy skills
- Basic checking skills
- Full CPC
There is a wide range of shifts with various start times as they run a 24 hour operation
Working any 5 out of 7 shifts per week, you will be given a rota after you have completed your induction. 40 hours a week and can be working weekends and evenings.
If you're successful then you will be provided with full training on all processes and systems. A 5 year employment check will need to be done including a criminal record check in order to comply with Civil Aviation Authority Regulations. This can take up to 4 weeks to complete.
