I am currently looking to recruit two full-time Layers to join the Civil Litigation Team at Sheffield City Council.

The team is fast-paced and they are looking for individuals with a recognised legal qualification (Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX Lawyer) and good knowledge and experience of working within civil litigation.

As a member of the team, you will be working on a variety of subject areas, including contract/commercial disputes, property litigation, debt recovery (private individuals and commercial undertakings), and public sector housing law.

You will also have the opportunity to represent and advocate in different forums, such as the County Court, Magistrates Court.

Applicants are welcome from all legal backgrounds and they are looking for people who are enthusiastic, flexible, and have a keen eye for detail. The ability to work well with others is key.

While the organisation is based in Sheffield, they actively support flexible working arrangements and the well-being of employees in the way the design and deliver the legal services.

You will be able to work flexibly, including working remotely, but attendance “in the office” will be required for part of your working hours, including court hearings.
