Reporting to the Field Service Technical Manager, the Technician role is focused on responding to unscheduled breakdowns on a fleet of Captured Landfill Methane (CLM), Coal Mine Methane (CMM) and Power Response (PR) generation sets and gas plants. The role aims to minimise unscheduled downtime, whilst ensuring that any corrective actions are carried out safely and to the correct standard.
The role requires the technician to work a rotating shift pattern
Performing unscheduled maintenance tasks on a fleet of generation sets and gas plants.
Ensuring that all work dispatched by the Logistics Centre is carried out safely, efficiently and to the required quality standard.
Identifying early warning signs of operational problems and / or potential breakdowns
Keeping up to date with gas field issues and liaising closely with technicians in the gas team, working to assist each other in resolving any issues affecting generation / compliance.
Ideal Candidate Requirements
Good basic mechanical background
Experience with working with HGV (haulage/recovery) or plant machinery
Large engine or generator background highly desirable
Comfortable with daily multi-site travel, shift patterns and some weekend working
Lone working experience with ability to use own initiative
Team player with willingness to knowledge share and teach others
Computer literate with basic knowledge Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Teams
Trustworthy and reliable with good work ethic and commitment to go the extra mile when needed
