Jobsecure are currently recruiting for leading provider of therapeutic residential care, independent education, and integrated clinical services for children and young people with multiple and complex needs.

This role will be ideally for someone who is looking for a promotion from a deputy managers role in a children residential home or a registered manager looking to progress further in their career as my client has many homes around the shropshire and north wales area supporting young people who have led troubled lives.

Duties Involved:

  • To lead and manage a staff team, providing support, setting goals and targets, and leading on staff development.

  • To lead and manage a staff team with initiative, accountability and responsibility at all times to developing the functioning of the team, providing guidance and direction.

  • To recognise one’s own strengths and weaknesses, and those of colleagues to contribute effectively to the functioning of team, acting as a lead in this regard to develop practice and quality.

  • To lead and manage teams, work with all other professionals acting in a respectful, polite and transparent manner at all times, actively monitoring and providing feedback to individuals in this regard.

  • To be the lead in developing and maintaining professional relationships with young people, individuals with parental responsibility, social workers, teaching staff and other professionals involved in the care of young people; acting as a role model and challenging poor practice in this regard.

  • To take a lead in sharing significant information with colleagues, line managers in a timely fashion, acting as a role model and challenging poor practice in this regard.

  • To lead and co-ordinate the development, implementation and delivery of the young person’s Quality of Life Plan across the integrated services; communicating and setting goals, supporting practice development and ensuring progress is monitored effectively.

  • To communicate effectively with others about a child’s needs as identified in the Quality of Life plan to other professionals, leading the care process where relevant.

  • To manage resources effectively to enable to staff teams to meet all the physical needs of the young person.

  • To apply a comprehensive understanding of the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) Model of Therapeutic Parenting to develop practice in the home.

  • To co-ordinate the training and lead, the formal professional development of staff teams ensuring that learning is applied in the home and reflected upon in supervisions.

  • To lead actively, motivate, delegate and provide direction to staff teams to ensure effective use of working hours, monitoring actively and providing feedback to individuals in this regard.

  • To oversee and monitor the safety and well-being of young people and developing a culture of alertness to signs of distress, neglect and abuse.

For the chance to be a part of this reputable company you must be have been working in children residential for over 5 years.

2 years in a managerial role within a children residential home.

DipSW CQSW equivlant or Level 5 diploma in leadership and management for residential childcare or equivilant.

Must have already obtained Level 3 children and young peoples work force or equivalent

Must have a drivers licence with own vehicle due to location.
