Children’s Deputy Manager - Brand New 5-bed Learning Disabilities Home - Portsmouth

Do you want to play a pivotal role in launching a brand new 5-bed specialist children’s residential home, supporting vulnerable young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in Portsmouth, with the full backing of a highly experienced Registered Manager and a values-driven family-run care provider?

The Opportunity:

We’re working with a well-established, family-owned care provider known for exceptional outcomes in the elderly care sector. After years of success, they’re launching their first Children’s learning disabilities home - and they’re looking for a Children’s Deputy Manager who can lead from the front.

This isn’t just a job - it’s a chance to shape a service from the ground up, set the standards, build your dream team, and have a real voice in the direction of the company’s growing children’s division.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager in the opening of a brand new, purpose-built 5-bed Children’s learning disabilities home
  • Driving quality, compliance, and person-centred care from day one
  • Recruiting, mentoring, and developing your team
  • Working closely with your Registered Manager to help shape the new home
  • Becoming a key figure in the organisation’s expansion into children’s services

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience as a Deputy Manager in children’s residential care
  • Strong background in supporting children with learning disabilities and complex needs
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted standards and regulatory requirements
  • Strong leadership style with a hands-on approach
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality, therapeutic and nurturing care
