Children Team Manager Social Worker
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for South Gloucestershire Council. This is a temporary Children's Social Work Team Manager Role. In this role you will benefit from a competitive hourly rate whilst having the opportunity to work in a professional and vibrant environment.
Working as a Team Manager you will lead and manage a team to ensure vulnerable children and young people are protected within the community. You will build positive and effective relationships with those providing preventative or specialist services to the children, young people and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes. The team which you will be managing undertakes social work in the areas of assessment, Child Protection, Children In Need and the initial stages of Looked after Children.
As a Team manager you will be responsible for effectively managing risk towards children and ensuring they are safe from abuse and harm, this means you will need to balance the needs and rights of children, family members and the organisation to ensure that casework decision making, regarding the safety and wellbeing of children, is robust and timely. You will also ensure good quality assessment, planning, intervention and reviewing in order to get the best possible outcomes for children.
For this position you will need hold a recognised social work qualification and be HCPC registered. Furthermore, you will have at least two years post qualifying experience in management experience in a local authority, Child Protection social work setting. You will also need to be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge within Child Protection, Children in Need and Looked after Children.
