Children's Residential Team Leader

We’re looking for a Children’s Residential Team Leader to join our home based in Swadlincote. You will be responsible for offering care and support to children that have been victims of some kind of sexual abuse or trauma. You’ll also take on the responsibility of supporting and mentoring residential care workers in the home. Ensuring all staff are completing their duties to the highest possible standard and also meeting the criteria to policies, procedures within government regulations and quality standards.
Our home admits children between the ages of 4-12 years old. However, at present our children are from 8 to 15 years old.

You must be 21 or over
You must have a full UK driving license (and have held this for at least 1 year)
You must have a NVQ level 3 in children’s and young people’s workforce, or equivalent.
Hourly rate- £9.95
Sleep in rate- £26.36 (currently under review)
On call rate- £30.00
Early/late: 7am-10pm/10.30pm
Early/late/sleep: 7am-10:30pm (then sleep) 10.30pm-7am (handover) 7am-10am (clock off)
These shifts are subject to change depending on the needs of the home and the children.
The manager will always try and give 1 to 1.5days off between sleeps.
Duties and responsibilities:

- Observing, mentoring and guiding care workers
- Oversight of key carers for children.
- Ensuring policy and procedures are being met to a high standard
- Attending and conducting supervisions
- Offering induction mentoring/buddy to new staff
- Recording and documenting
- Liaising with outside agencies and organisations (social care, schools, doctors, dentist)
- Transporting the children around
- Taking children to contact
- Helping the children access education
- Encouraging the children to integrate into the community in a positive manner
- Care planning
- Meal planning
- Household duties
- Working closely with the home manager and deputy manager
- Encouraging and promoting activities/hobbies the children wish to engage in.
- Ensure the children’s wishes and feelings are heard and responded to
