Children's Residential Support Worker

Do you have the patience, resilience and drive to come into our homes and make a difference? We need individuals that are understanding and prepared to take on the challenges our homes can present.
We’re looking for five Children’s Residential Care Workers to join our home based in Swadlincote. You will be responsible for offering care and support to children that have been victims of some kind of sexual abuse or trauma. Our home admits children between the ages of 4-12 years old. However at present our children are aged between 8 and 15 years old.
If you join the Cambian family you will walk in to a small, very hard working team that put 100% into everything they do. This role will no doubt present challenges and hurdles on a daily basis. However we believe for the right individual this role can offer you great job satisfaction, giving you the genuine opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives.
You must be 21 or over
Have some childcare/residential experience
You must have a full UK driving license (and have held this for at least 1 year)
NVQ Level 3 in children and young people’s workforce (Desired, but not essential. We will put you through this qualification upon starting)
No experience- £8.15
Experienced- £8.65
Qualified- £9.00
Sleep in rate- £26.36 (currently under review)
On call rate- £30.00
Early/late: 7am-10pm/10.30pm
Early/late/sleep: 7am-10:30pm (then sleep) 10.30pm-7am (handover) 7am-10am (clock off)
These shifts are subject to change depending on the needs of the home and the children.
The manager will always try and give 1 to 1.5days off between sleeps.
Duties and responsibilities:

- Recording and documenting
- Liaising with outside agencies and organisations (social care, schools, doctors, dentist)
- Transporting the children around
- Taking children to contact
- Helping the children access education
- Encouraging the children to integrate into the community in a positive manner
- Care planning
- Meal planning
- Household duties
