Children's Residential Support Worker job in St Helen's up to £22k per year

They are a family owned business with plans to open 3 more homes within the next 6 months. They invest time and money into staff development and training and offer care to children up to the age of 17.
Your new role
You will be working in one of their established homes as a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will join an experienced team as a residential support worker. For this Support Worker job you will be working in a modern home with excellent amenities and facilities. You will be required to carry out day to day duties required of a support worker and act as a key worker with specified individuals. You will follow health care plans and support the children on their learning plans. Providing recreational activities such as accompanying them on trips and holidays. You will support young people in their decision making and show a good understanding of supporting them with social, emotional and challenging behaviours.
You will be working under the direction of the team leader and manager who will in turn support you in your continual professional development and career progression. You will be required to undertake regular training and meetings as well as providing up to date reports and planning for the young people in your care.
You will be working on a rolling rota basis consisting of 24 hour shifts on a 2 days on 4 days off basis, this will consist of a 15 hour day followed by a paid sleep in shift.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have a Health and Social Care background and as a minimum hold a level 2 in Health and Social Care or Childcare. You need to have experience and knowledge of working with children with emotional and challenging behaviours.
- Level 2 or above childcare or social care qualification
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a support worker or SEN Teaching Assistant
- Hold a full driving licence
- Be able to commit to 2 days on 4 days off with paid sleep in shifts
