We’re looking for 4 new driven, friendly and confident children’s residential support workers to work within our sexual trauma home based in Atherstone. We currently look after four children, and will soon be expecting a fifth child to join us.
Do you have the resilience and the empathy to offer children the everyday support and structure that they need?
If you join the Cambian family, you’ll walk in to a welcoming, friendly team of individuals. That offer care and support to children with a cocktail of complex needs as a result of some form of sexual abuse/trauma. This role will no doubt present you with challenges. However with that being said, we believe it can be the most rewarding job out there for the right individuals.
Our home specialises in providing treatment for children who have suffered early life trauma as the victims of serious abuse and/or profound neglect. These children having suffered intolerable abuse and negative experiences have very complex needs. The children have little if any understanding of acceptable behaviour. Their behaviours are often a defence against their early life experiences. Many if not most of our children have experienced repeated family and placement breakdown. Unaided, they may carry their trauma into adulthood, and potentially, repeat those acts of abuse upon their own or other children.
The home itself is situated on a residential road; this appears to neighbours and passes by the same as an everyday family home. The home has great facilities with a drive, front and back garden, sensory room, play room, utility room, multiple bathrooms, a Lounge and a lovely kitchen diner. All the children have their own bedrooms. Staff; also have their own sleep in room and adult room/office.
