We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Children’s Home Manager in the Bedford area of Bedfordshire.
The position is an easy commute from Wellingborough (13 mins), Milton Keynes (28 mins), Wyboston (23 mins), Letchworth Garden City (38 mins), and Hardingstone (38 mins).
Working with children really is a unique vocation, with this role requiring an experienced and ambitious individual with excellent leadership skills relevant to the job, with a firm foundation of experience helping children within a residential setting. This position is for a 3-bedded home supporting children with complex needs, challenging and high-risk behaviours, offering medium to long term placements for children aged 8-18.
Our client is an established provider of specialist care and education in a therapeutic environment for young people with complex needs. They provide them with the safety and positive relationships needed to develop their self-esteem, enabling them to have the bright and happy future they deserve. As a Children’s Home Manager, you will need to have:
- Your NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People and be willing to work towards your Level 5 NVQ in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
- You will have previous experience of working in a children’s residential home at management level e.g. Deputy Manager/Manager.
- You will have excellent communication skills enabling you to engage effectively with the young people in your home, empathising and understanding their individual needs.
- You also need to hold a full UK driving licence, with access to your own vehicle.
Your pay will be £32,000 - £35,000 per annum, with lots of opportunities for career progression for the right person.
