Calling those looking to make a difference to the lives of young people!
To be truly successful in life our young people need Care, Education & Therapy.
That’s why we believe in offering all three & we’re looking for like-minded people to be an integral part of this by supporting our young people and liaising with our therapist & education coordinator.
We’re searching for people who have a positive outlook and who genuinely care about supporting others.
Whether you’re outgoing & confident, or more reserved, as a support worker you’ll be empathetic, warm, sometimes firm and always fair. As our young people are typically between 11 - 17, Humour & personality are often the perfect tools to offer support & encouragement to them!
We're excited to launch our biggest ever recruitment drive ready to prepare our homes to be able to change the lives of more young people. We're looking for staff from all walks of life, incuding seniors & casual staff!
All positions involve working in conjunction with the staff team to maintain effective professional relationships with the young people, parents, colleagues and outside agencies and managing the wellbeing and behaviour of the young people, including sensitive situations, dealing with immediate issues on shift and within the team ensuring incidents are appropriately followed up and reported, referring significant occurrences through agreed channels as appropriate.
You will be expected to act as a positive role model to both staff and the young people.
While it is beneficial to the role for you to have previous experience within a children`s home setting or similar, and ideally hold a minimum of a level 3 qualification in a relevant health and social care related area, it isn't essential as we provide all relevant training.
Most important of all we care, and because we care we are there to make sure appropriate boundaries and safeguards are in place for our young people.
As our young people live with us we are privileged to support them 24 / 7, 365 days a year.
We work on a rota system which supports our young people right through the year, including weekends & holidays, often because we’re the only ones they can rely on during those times.
Our staff offer core support from 08:30am - 10:30pm & they take turns sleeping in the home of an evening to make sure everyone remains safe.
Our homes are rural, therefore it is important that our staff are able to drive and have access to their own vehicle.
Our full time staff work between 36 - 42 hours, depending on their preference.
It’s important our staff team are happy as this is what keeps our young people happy.
As a provider we don't believe in using agency staff, because it causes unneccessary anxiety for our young people. Therefore we are also looking to build our team of casual staff. Some of our casual staff may just work a shift a month, some more, some less! It's really about working together to offer the best support for our young people and staff.
ABC Care and Education are a family owned company with Residential Children`s Care Homes and an Independent School.
We’re an equal opportunities employer and we love diversity.
A diverse staff team enables our young people to appreciate the diversity of the wider community.
As the welfare of our young people is so important, applicants will undergo safeguard screening, including checks with past employers and disclosures with the relevant bodies at the appropriate level.
Interviews will be conducted in batches, therefore please register your interest today.
During this process you will have the opportunity to upload your CV.
As we work with a vulnerable client group, it is important to ensure a enhanced DBS check & full background reference check is complete.
