Our client, a respected national children's Charity, are recruiting for an Essex based Project Worker to work with children and young people whose parents have substance misuse needs.

The successful candidate will be working with 8 - 19 year olds through detached outreach support, one to one key working sessions and targeted group work programmes and will be supporting them with issues relating to both their life and their parent/s' drug and alcohol related needs.

You will be supporting children and young people who are experiencing emotional or physical abuse, domestic violence, neglect, social exclusion, isolation and those who are underachieving at school/ are prone to truancy as a result of a parent or family members' substance misuse.

You will be support these young people with both their practical and emotional needs and will work with them to improve resilience, support their emotional health and well being and equip them to cope with challenges and identify and achieve their goals.

The successful candidate will be working in close partnership with a range of agencies, services and partners including schools, alternative education providers, CAMHS, social services and specialist charities.

The successful candidate will be working with clients on both a 121 basis and a group setting and will be supporting them with both their practical and emotional needs.

Requirements:

*Previous experience working with vulnerable children and young people and of engaging hard to reach children through a range of methods
*The ideal candidate will have a background in youth work, family support work, children's social care and/ or young person's supported housing
*They are ideally looking for someone who has experience of providing 121 support and of delivering group sessions
