REED Social Care are recruiting for a Children and Families Project Worker in North Nottinghamshire. Working alongside Social Workers, you will be assessing the levels of need of children and young people, their families and carers and identifying appropriate plans and services to support them. The role is primarily based in Bassetlaw, but could involve travel throughout the north of the county.
This is an ideal role for a Newly Qualified Social Worker awaiting their HCPC.
This is a temporary role on an ongoing rolling contract and is a 37 hour per week role - primarily Mon - Fri 9-5pm. Pay rate for the role is £13.00 per hour PAYE.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Working alongside Social Workers to provide advice and practical support to children and young people who are deemed “in need” under the Children Act 1989.
Life Story Work for children who are newly accommodated or have moved to live with alternative family members.
To provide support and advice to families and carers on how best to meet the needs of their children or young people.
Assist with and co-work assessments with Social Workers and other agencies as appropriate.
Attend LAC reviews, child protection conferences, core groups or CIN reviews with the Social Worker who has case responsibility.
Promote the health of children and young people and enable access to the appropriate health care professionals.
Home visits to children subject to a child in need plan if judged to be appropriate by the team manager.
Accompany Social Worker on visits where joint visiting is felt necessary.
Take money/food parcels and equipment out to families.
Working alongside Social Workers to ensure that all relevant professionals are updated in relation to any key/significant changes in a child/families circumstances or plan.
Transporting children and supervising contact when this cannot be provided by the contact service.
Referrals to agencies, provide updates to agencies and gather updates as directed by the Social Worker, including completion of agency checks where necessary.
Attending LAC reviews, child protection conferences, core groups or CIN reviews with the Social Worker who has case responsibility.
You will need to have at least 12 months experience of working in a health, educational, social care setting or voluntary work with children and young people and be able to understand developmental needs of children, young people, their families and carers.
