Chief Internal Auditor

A large public sector organisation are seeking a Chief Internal Auditor for a 7 month contract role in Carlisle.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the the Council Internal Audit team and help them support management in keeping the Council safe by delivering audits included in the Internal Audit plan and recommending appropriate actions to address control gaps identified.

The role wll be to manage all audits across the council and the regional police department. You will be heading up a team of circa 10.

They are looking for applicants to have a CCAB Accounting qualifiction OR MIAA or CIAA qualification or equivalent. You must have experience at a senior level, experience of managing a team and come with public sector experience.

The successful candidate will have a strong team focus, and strong interpersonal, communication and report writing skills, with relevant internal audit experience.

The role also involves supporting the Principal Audit Managers ad Chief Internal Auditor with stakeholder management at senior levels across the Council.
