What you’ll be doing
You will lead and manage a dedicated team of kitchen staff to deliver meals and snacks, ensuring our residents enjoy well-cooked, nutritious and beautifully presented food, taking into account health related dietary requirements, ethnic origins and religious convictions.
You will play a key role in the preparation of meals, special events and functions, providing a high-quality kitchen service. Working within the constraints of the budget, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the kitchen and formal supervision of kitchen staff as part of a vibrant team whose aim is to promote the general well-being of customers.
Where you will be working
A market town that bloomed during the cotton industry, Chorley is well located between four other key towns and is home to Chorley Lodge, a modern and purpose-built home specialising in care for older people. The home provides 24hr residential care and specialist dementia care.
What you’ll need
Minimum qualification of QCF/NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds 706/2 in Catering
Food Safety Level 2 or Basic Food Hygiene certificate
Full understanding of HACCP process and implementation experience
Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment
A passion for producing fresh, home cooked food, from scratch to the highest standard
Recipe costing skills and food budgeting experience
Leadership skills to supervise/lead the kitchen team
Good organisational skills. Ability to prioritise workloads
Previous management/supervisory experience
Experience of food preparation for the relevant Client group including Dysphagia
Values and commitment
