CHC Assistant Accountant

Client:

Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a large NHS organisation based in Merseyside. They are looking to identify an Assistant Accountant to join their Finance Department for an initial 6-month period with a strong possibility of extension and future work.

Role:

Duties will include;

  • Support the Senior Contracts Manager with the contract management for complex home care provision
  • Attend monthly contract management meetings with the complex home care provider and provide support as required
  • Support the Senior Contract manager with the monthly financial reconciliation relating to complex home care provision
  • Liaise with the complex home care providers to any agreed changes in packages of care and related queries
  • Support the Children’s CHC nurses with the joint resource panel process by providing package and financial information as required
  • Attend the fortnightly Children’s Joint Resource Panel, undertaking any relevant actions following decisions made at panel
  • Provide support to the Joint Resource Panel, in the absence of the DMBC panel administrator
  • Maintain relationships and liaise with DMBC colleagues including Financial Management, Care Management and Short Breaks in order to accurately record packages of care
  • Support the Contract Manager to implement contracting processes for Individual Placements, including children’s and adults CHC, Fast Track, Section 117 and Learning Disabilities
  • Assist with the provision of management information/reports as required including information required for complaints and Freedom of Information requests
  • Produce ad-hoc reports as required
  • Work with the Contract Manager to ensure the accuracy of the Broadcare database, ensuring any changes are recorded in a timely way and validating data
  • Liaise with finance colleagues with regard to invoice queries and payments
  • Maintain relationships and liaise with the CHC Clinical Team and wider teams within the CCG as appropriate.
  • Support with the processing of fast track packages of care including preparation of proformas for tender to providers. Deal with requests for increases in care packages and provide advice to clinicians/referrer in line with the commissioning principles
  • Prepare and send provider letters through the database system
  • Distribute information to internal and external organisations as required using appropriate information governance
  • To monitor the Contracting Team inbox, ensuring that all emails are dealt with efficiently or forwarded to the relevant member of the team for action Deal with telephone and e-mail queries from patients, families, providers & professionals

Person: The successful candidate will be:

  • NHS Experience and understanding of Continuous Healthcare
  • Hold strong system skills - including MS Excel
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with Senior Management
