My client is looking to employ a Manufacturing Engineer to support current cell and cell improvement work at its purpose-built manufacturing facility in Clevedon, Somerset area. The 5.4 acre facility comprises of a modern factory with flexible production lines, assembly feed cells, just in time manufacturing and the largest specialist research and design centre in the world for its particular product.
The business is highly innovative; customer focused and has grown rapidly over recent years. It offers all the advantages of a small pioneering niche company but backed up by the security and professionalism of a global company.
Why does the job exist?
To own the manufacturing system within the allocated manufacturing cell(s) by the creation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the safe and LEAN processes for existing and new products to ensure operations on time to standard and within budget within the allocated manufacturing cell.
The suitable candidate should be able to support the range of Manufacturing Engineering functions, in particular covering: -
·To be the recognised Manufacturing expert for both cell support and Continuous Improvement activities.
·Control & ensure the maintenance of Production Job Packs to include: BOMs, Routings & Test Docs.
·Support Production Cells on Daily Production Issues to include containment & Continuous Improvement activities.
·Workplace organisation and implementation of a safe working environment.
·Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFMA).
·Experience of working within an assembly environment
·Use of risk mitigation tools to control risks within processes and prioritise risk to be mitigated
·Relevant experience in implementing the principles of lean manufacturing
·Project management experience including implementation of complex and technically challenging projects
·Experience of utilising problem solving and root cause analysis tools in a manufacturing environment
·Experience in optimising production processes as well as providing production support and training.
·Design for manufacture knowledge
·Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
·Previous experience in key manufacturing principles such as TPM, 8D, 6S problem solving, product responsibility, continuous improvement process.
