Working as part of a highly committed team at Sunrise the Kitchen Assistant is one of the key roles within our communities. The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for all aspects of kitchen duties, including kitchen sanitation,cleaning duties and refuse.
Duties would include:
Maintaining kitchen sanitation and order in the storeroom, walk-ins and other storage areas. Keeping the kitchen clean and sanitised. Wash dishes, glassware, cutlery and utensils in the dishwasher machine, return items to proper storage area. Clean machine and all surrounding areas. Wash, rinse, and sanitise saucepans. Sweep and mop kitchen and surrounding areas. Fill paper towel and soap dispensers. Clean major kitchen equipment (oven, refrigerators, walls etc as per the Sunrise cleaning schedule. Perform other cleaning duties as assigned by the Chef/Dining Services Coordinator. Record keeping - Sunrise cleaning schedule log.
Potwash and cleaning duties only no food preparation involved.
Shift working times are: 12.00-20.00 and 8.00-15.00 to include working alternate weekends.
Experience in similar area is beneficial although not essential.
- Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
- Possess good judgement, problem solving, and decision making skills
- Food safety course qualification desirable but training can be given.
