The Role

This role is focussed on providing scalable category recommendations and solutions across an exciting customer base. Also, the successful candidate will have ownership of the category relationship for Waitrose and Ocado. The main responsibilities are:

  • Acting as a Category Advisor with your customer, build strong partnerships and networks across a number of levels and functions, influencing through best in class category insights to influence and drive a change in store e.g. through direct customer facing engagement on projects, building and developing category reporting / scorecards and supporting sales and internal teams on your customers
  • Support the Waitrose customer team with customer facing meetings as well as supporting their monthly team meetings with market and customer insights and risks and opportunities
  • Working alongside the Head of Category and Line Manager define and embed the category strategy for Waitrose in line with the customer category opportunities and customer corporate objectives
  • Ensuring internal teams, especially Sales, have access to insight tools and are trained and upskilled with a basic understanding of continuous measures
  • Work with R&I teams to ensure we are set to deliver accurate and customer representative reporting to track category performance within your customer

The Candidate

The requirements for this position:

  • Category Management experience
  • Data interpretation, manipulation and analysis essential to create clear strategic and commercial recommendations
  • Experience with market data software - Nielsen & Kantar
  • Understanding of different Channel dynamics
  • Ability to influence with gravitas cross functionally and externally
  • Ability to communicate complex data and recommendations
  • Ability to create and develop internal and external relationships
  • Tenacity and drive for results
  • Strategic thinking
