A London based local authority is looking to recruit a Category Manager whose expertise lies within construction. This role will be a 3 month contract paying £400 per day inside IR35.
Your new role
Within this role, you will be expected to lead and deliver a programme of construction procurements. This will include; researching the supplier market within the construction industry, tendering, negotiating and awarding a contract. You will also be responsible for monitoring the delivery and addressing any issues surrounding timescales and delays. You will be working with senior managers and directors, and should be able to provide clear procurement advice.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you must have previous construction procurement experience within the public sector and have extensive knowledge of the construction industry within the UK. You must be comfortable leading your own procurements, negotiating and advising senior stakeholders.
