We are looking for an inspirational leader who can deliver within this transformational role to lead the Category Excellence agenda and develop a high performing team! This is an exceptional opportunity to join a leading Global branded food business as a Category Director with the brief to drive Category Leadership at a local market level. This is a large leadership role and we need an inspirational leader to motivate, coach and develop a total team of c10, 6 direct reports. A large focus of your time will modelling behaviours, succession planning, talent management and development to shape a high performing team. Key deliverables of the role will include the development, alignment and execution of the company category strategy grounded in the global category vision and driver framework. This role leads the Category Leadership agenda internally with Marketing & Sales and is expected to provide strategic direction to continuously evolve the category thought leadership and in-store leadership agenda with customers to build and establish sustaining long-term category partnerships delivering category growth.
You will need to be able to develop and drive a clear customer contact strategy for the team and also develop a senior customer contact strategy, building strong relationships with key customers being a point of senior escalation when required. Success will be achieved through delivery of best in class Category teams, operating with a category first approach to drive growth, Trade Attitude Survey results and influence with customers.
We expect you will have a big brand FMCG background with significant experience in Sales, Marketing and Category and a track record of success in both, people leadership and customer intimacy. You will feel at home operating within global organisations, navigating Global, Region and Local structures. You’ll have led multilevel passionate teams which have delivered amazing category & team success.
