Our client is a major blue-chip branded FMCG player with a portfolio of market leading brands. Currently we are working with them to identify someone to take up a new role of Category Development Manager but with one eye on the future as they hope to identify a future Category Controller (12-18 month timeframe) through this appointment. In the role you would be responsible for delivering best in class category leadership for this Channel which includes their #1 retailer.
The channel is a key growth driver for the organisation and integral to their customer engagement. This is a key appointment for the business and will enable them to deliver Category Excellence and to Win in store. No surprise, we are looking for an experienced Category professional to join the business and work with their #1 retailer who are recognised for their own expert knowledge and customer insight so you will be challenged to deliver thought leading category initiatives!
Ultimately we are looking for someone who is passionate for Category and you will have a background of using a mix of market, shopper and customer insights to identify category growth opportunities. Successful candidates will come with extensive FMCG experience and able to demonstrate a track record of implementing category strategies with customers for significant business benefit. We are however open to anyone operating in a major Grocer as a Buyer or Strategy role interested in moving supplier side. A must is that you are forward thinking, flexible in attitude and you must have the drive and resilience to succeed.

Location wise they are based in East Midlands and time in office is c2-3 days a week (funded overnight accommodation) so we would expect candidates in South Yorkshire, East Midlands and Northern Home Counties should all be accessible.
