Annual Salary: Up to £35,000
Hours/Days: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:00
Location: Onsite initially. Hybrid working available after completion of full training

Our client is a distribution company within FMCG in food, beverages and wellness, who are seeking an experienced and well-organised Category Buyer with expertise in all aspects of the procurement process. The successful candidate will join our client’s purchasing team, which supplies their customers with a wide range of products from various brands. This role involves high level of teamwork and also managing your own supplier relationships.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee a portfolio of supplier accounts.
- Identify and engage with new suppliers and brands to expand our product range.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure optimal agreements.
- Formulate and execute strategic plans for key product categories.
- Issue and expedite purchase orders to efficiently manage inventory.
- Monitor and adjust stock levels to meet business goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, notably Excel and Word.
- Advanced administrative skills, capable of utilizing reports and spotting trends.
- Superior negotiation abilities.
- Capacity to work effectively under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
- Excellent organisational skills with a focus on meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-driven and initiative-taking, able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Ability to adapt to the fast-paced and continuously evolving industry demands.
- Effective relationship-building skills, with a knack for maintaining positive relationships with suppliers.
