We are recruiting for a Procurement Category Buyer (Sub Contract Haulage) for our Central Procurement Team in Chippenham.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all sub-contract haulage & distribution categories of expenditure adopting best practice Procurement processes to identify key areas of opportunity, maximising benefits and returns. The successful candidate will be required to build relationships with internal stakeholders and work closely with the operations to deliver end to end sourcing solutions and value across the category.
You will be responsible for the usual procurement responsibilities including -
lead cross functional teams in the development of category plans
develop, measure and monitor KPI's, Supply Level Agreements and continuous improvements through reviews with suppliers
Category expertise and knowledge development
Rationalize the supply base
Support business by providing procurement advice and guidance.
Design, monitor and maintain procurement policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have -
Experience of procuring categories of wide variety, spend and complexity desirable
Could consider transport / logistics experience with the right commercial exposure.
Ideally a degree in a relevant discipline and/or MCIPS or working towards it.
Experience of procuring road haulage and/or distribution services at an operation level will be advantageous
Ability of gaining knowledge quickly.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
