Casual Supervisor – Unpaid Work
£11.23 per hour
The Unpaid Work Team within Criminal Justice Social Work is looking to recruit casual supervisors, to work variable hours including evenings and weekends, to assist in the delivery of unpaid work and other activities under the Community Payback Scheme, as ordered by courts as a possible part of community disposal.
The post will be involved in supervising groups of individuals within the region and will be based primarily in Dumfries but cover might also be required in Annan and Castle Douglas. The post is to support an established team and work will be on a casual basis including weekend cover.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have a trade qualification or experience of working independently and be capable of translating their vision confidently to others. Skills in training and supervising individuals and previous experience in working with offenders would be an advantage. They must have a good understanding of the needs of offenders and be able to work in a non-judgemental manner using pro social modelling skills.
They must also have a good understanding of Health and Safety legislation and be able to demonstrate the ability to work safely and within national and local health and safety procedures.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
