We are currently seeking support workers to work within one of our supported living services in Hatfield where you will be supporting a number of individuals with varying needs.
Some of their favourite things to do are going on outings and exploring new places; having time out of their chairs to stretch and take part in sensory activities.; listening to story CVs and going out in the car. Family and staff support is also very important to them; as is being included and having people understand them as individuals.
The individuals you will be supporting require you to administer medication as well as provide personal care; so you must be comfortable with this. It is important that you can support these individuals whilst also encouraging their independence. One of the individuals' experiences seizures; it is important to this person that you are able to stay calm and ensure their safety when a seizure does occur. You will also be supporting with day to day things like finances; household duties such as cleaning; and to prepare and cook healthy meals.
They would love someone who is friendly; sociable; and likes to get involved. You must be patient; understanding and able to adapt you service delivery dependant on the individual's needs. For example; using Makaton is key in the support plan for one of the individuals you will be supporting.
Flexibility is a must as you will need to be available to work across various shifts to include; days, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
Drivers are essential for this position due to role requirements.
