We are looking for a person with freight and airline experience. to join a busy GSA at Heathrow.
The ability to liaise with UK Freight Forwarders as well as the clients Carrier`s in all aspects of Operations, Sales, Marketing, Administration. The ability to communicate clearly with the freight forwarders when selling space on a client carrier, cargo reservations, post flight information, operational issues with the cargo handling agent or airside handling agent or trucking company to Europe if an offline carrier. To be proficient in issuing verbal & written instructions and ensure the instructions are understood and actioned. Report to your Line Manager any service failures and the ability to advise action taken in order to rectify. Close liaison with the Client freight forwarder. Good or Bad news management.
Customer Service aspects will be prevalent in providing a proactive stance of advising client carriers and freight forwarders of issues, missing or damaged cargo.
Dangerous Goods recognition with a minimum understanding of Class 1 - 7 as well as understanding Carrier & Country Exemptions in the IATADGR Book.
Cargo Size Recognition. To mean the ability to recognise Outsize Air Cargo versus Aircraft being used. Number of trucks required for movement between Cargo Reception and Airport of Departure. To ensure all RFS are used effectively to obtain Minimum price p/kg available. Report same to Line Manager for cost analysis.
The ability to recognise Sales opportunities whilst listening to the freight forwarders needs and offering solutions. Joining a " never say no " company culture and adopting the same attitude. Liaison between departments to ensure Operations, Sales & Administration are in tune with any new development you may have introduced or a suggested improvement in working practise is expected always from you as a Team Player.
