Opening of the building, checking heating and the building for any possible problems which may impact on the ability for building users to operate and to notify the Duty Co-ordinator should any faults occur.
Ensuring that fire and intruder alarm systems are in working order and carry out weekly test.
Clear snow from pathways to building entrances as agreed locally.
Responding to fire alarm activation whilst building is open by following the building management fire procedures
Check and arrange that rooms are set up for any internal/external lets/bookings
that the building is secure at the end of the day. Check windows, doors, perimeter fences to ensure the condition and security.
Provide a visible presence in relation to building security when members of the public are present or as requested by the building management
Carry out agreed local procedure for access and egress for both pedestrians and vehicles
Close and make the building secure at end of access hours
To assist in setting up and the preparation of rooms/halls for meetings
To undertake any other relevant tasks associated with the Service Level Agreement in the Facility Service provision to the Council
All Jobholders are required to be numerate, effective communicators and be experienced in dealing with the public.
Previous caretaking/building security experience is desirable
