Caretaker / Cleaner

Our client is looking to recruit a Caretaker / Cleaner who can work as part of the Facilities Management Team to support the delivery of support services.

This is a permanent and full time role based in Oxford.

You will be required to provide an efficient and high quality cleaning and caretaking service by undertaking general responsibilities such as;

  • maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the depots
  • working across multiple buildings requiring the significant use of stairs and use of cleaning equipment
  • cleaning offices, meeting rooms, corridors, staircases and common-use areas
  • cleaning & restocking kitchens, changing rooms & toilet areas
  • cleaning and emptying waste bins and separating recyclables
  • treating and polishing appropriate areas
  • tidying of external building areas, including littler picking and removal of weeds etc
  • carrying out support tasks to the Depot Maintenance Officer eg; fire alarm sounder testing and outlet flushing
  • undertaking general unskilled maintenance tasks as required
  • providing cover for locking up and securing depot buildings
  • setting up rooms for meetings/training and ensuring that refreshments are available as required
  • to act as fire warden
  • supporting and assisting operational staff during periods of adverse weather
  • any other duties of a similar nature which might reasonably be expected of a person holding this level of responsibility as determined

Successful candidates will need to satisfy the following criteria;

  • must be literate & numerate
  • have previous office cleaning experience
  • have an understanding of safe principles of manual handling
  • be physically fit
  • experienced in providing excellent customer service

This role is working 37 hours per week on a shift rota between the hours of 6.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.

£9.26 per hour
