Working Location: Hill of Beath, Fife Cycle Park & Cowdenbeath Area

Interview Date: Week commencing 4 June 2018

You will be required to work an alternative day/back shift pattern which will vary at times to accommodate the centre’s programme and will include weekend work when required.

Requirements

As part of a team, you will be responsible for opening, closing and securing of Hill of Beath Community Centre, Fife Cycle Park and you may be asked to attend to other Council facilities in the Cowdenbeath area. You and your colleagues will work together supporting the operation and delivery of Halls, Community Centres, Community Use facilities and Community Learning and Development (CLD) centre programmes and activities. You will have direct responsibility for the security, cleanliness and smooth operation of buildings and surrounding grounds. At times it may involve working alone and unsupervised.

Ensuring facilities open appropriately at prescribed times and are cleaned and maintained to a high standard. Provide a high standard of customer service as well as accept bookings and payments as directed by the Service. Reporting, recording and following up on emergency and non-emergency repairs.   

We pay the Scottish Local Government Living Wage of £8.51 per hour for this post.

The Individual

The post requires:-

  • Practical knowledge in a customer facing environment
  • Cleaning and Manual Handling experience
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Good communicative skills and ability to deal with the public
  • Ability to work with a range of client groups and service users
  • Manage a booking system within defined procedures
