Job title: HR Business Partner

Location: West London

Salary: Circa £45-50k per annum

Contract type: Fixed Term Contract

Duration: 6 months initially with a strong chance of a permanent role thereafter

We do not play favourites with our clients but this is a genuinely fantastic place to work and you will be fulfilling a role that adds real value here. It also helps that you will have a great boss. The business has in the region of 700 employees globally and they are growing fast. 150 of those people are based in the London office. This is a fairly relaxed environment.

People work hard and are very passionate about what they do but employees are treated with respect and trust. If you want to work from home one day a week, that’s fine. If you want to start at 10am and finish a bit later, that is also fine. You will be judged by what you achieve, not by being present. There is a brilliant culture and you will love working here.

This is a contract role initially but there is a very strong chance that this will become permanent. They just need someone quickly!

What will be keeping you busy?

They have a fairly junior HR team and they need a good HR generalist that can add some real experience to the function. The Head of HR has lots of experience and will be great to work for but she has a lot to get done and needs a safe pair of hands that can get on with delivering the HR agenda.

There is a lot to be put in place and improved upon in HR and the business will be very receptive to these changes. You will need to take people both in HR and the business with you and will act as a role model to the rest of the team. The business will invest in HR, you just need to provide a solid business case and deliver on it as a champion of change!

You will be involved with recruitment, reward, policy and compliance. They have a couple of people that handle ER work so you will not have a huge amount of involvement in that work. Your focus will be on helping the business to put best practice in place. You will know what good looks like and you will put processes in place that are not over-engineered and complex. You will need to roll your sleeves up and do the doing but you will also be shaping how that doing gets done. Make sense?!

Who are we looking for?

We are after someone that is available to start very soon and who ultimately would like a permanent role. Our client is pretty flexible in terms of where someone comes from but they would like to see someone that has worked in more than one business. They would like you to be able to leverage ideas and experience from different organisations. If you have worked internationally that is great but not essential.

You will be someone that is a good coach and mentor and who can help the team around you develop. It also goes without saying that you will be truly commercial in your approach with an ability to demonstrate a real return on investment.

If you are someone that has worked in over-processed HR environments or ones that are heavily focused in ER then you may not be the right fit. It is fine if you have worked in this type of organisation but they would like to see that you have gained experience elsewhere. If you have worked in a high-growth business, this would be a real advantage as you will be used to putting best practice in place in an environment where there is a certain level of ambiguity.
