Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists within Major Air Programmes (MAP) for a Campaign Manager who will be responsible for developing and pursuing opportunities for MAP in both the UK and worldwide. The role focuses on the identification and development of major, strategic opportunities. The position involves travel to meet with customers and end-users. The candidate will be required to deliver briefings on Airborne and Space Systems Division (ASSD) products and services and to establish customer requirements. The Campaign Manager, working to the MAP Head of Campaigns and with the Business Winning Team, must identify and develop proposals in order to secure business and to grow targeted areas of the business. A Campaign Manager should be able to work across the specific Business Areas of MAP, the wider Lines of Business within ASSD and across other Divisions.

Key Responsibility Areas
Develop opportunities and prospects for MAP.
Work closely with the MAP Capability and Engineering Teams
Liaise with Regional and Divisional Marketing.
Develop customer intimacy and create relationships with end-users.
Lead Integrated Campaign Teams during the creation of proposals
Gather and Interpret market intelligence.
Secure orders to contribute to the MAP Order Intake Target.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
Knowledge of Avionics Systems and Air Platforms.
Significant experience in developing, planning, managing and leading key sales or strategic campaigns within the defence or other comparable sectors.
Will have worked in a global matrix organisation with complex reporting structures in an Integrated Project Team (IPT) or Integrated Campaign Team (ICT) environment.
Comfortable working in a team environment.
Demonstrable experience of contributing to the broader business agenda in regard to commercial decisions, operations and customer delivery within a Sales & Marketing context.
Strong leadership and motivational skills.
Able to develop strong, trusting relationships at all levels within the business and externally and be able to influence effectively at a senior level.
Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence and be aware of impact on others working together during high pressure bid activity.
An in-depth understanding of products and techniques, ideally through operational experience as an end user/operator or by having previous technical experience of ASSD systems.
A capacity to overcome barriers and influence change.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Self-starter/motivator able to set short and long-term planning goals in line with campaign and business needs.
A task-oriented style, with focus on achieving clear and ambitious goals
Financially aware with the ability to interpret and manage forecast, budget and variance to maximise outcomes.
