CAMHS Crisis Clinicians

Would you like to be part of an innovative and enthusiastic team providing support and intervention to young people and their families experiencing mental illness or emotional distress? North Yorkshire and York Camhs Crisis Team are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated CAMHS Clinician to work as part of the team. The service is fast paced and the ideal applicant will be extremely organised and self motivated to provide high quality assessment and formulation to the young people within the service. We provide evidence based assessments and interventions for young people.The team provide a creative and proactive approach in engaging young people and their families.

The successful candidate will be compassionate, enthusiastic and motivated to improve the lives of young people experiencing a mental health problem whilst also minimising the impact of mental ill health. The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a busy team as well as working independently. They will also be ability to engage and communicate well with children and young people across the developmental spectrum as well as the parents/carers and system around them is essential, including during emotive and/or challenging situations. The successful candidate will be able to confidently lead the shift and direct more junior staff. They will also be able to make sound clinical decision to help reduce and manage the risk of harm to the young person, liaising effectively with other professionals when it is clinically indicated.

The North Yorkshire and York CAMHS crisis team covers a large geographical area and has 3 bases these include York, Scarborough and Ripon. The successful candidate will have a choice of base in either Ripon or York area. However the person will be expected to work in any of the bases to cover the locality. The successful candidate will be expected to travel around the locality during their shift to meet with young people and there families.

The successful candidate must have a professional registration in nursing or social work
