CAD/CAM Design Engineer

Due to Continued Expansion an Opportunity has Arisen for a CAD/CAM Design Engineer to Join the Team Based in Tonbridge. Reporting to the Development Director, this is an Excellent Opportunity to Work as a Member of a Team Using the Latest 3D CAD/CAM Software

You will Work Closely within the Design Team to Produce Design Models and Production Drawings for Clients and Support Internal Production with Flat Pattern Development and Processing for a Range of CNC Machinery

You will be Responsible for the End to End Process of Creating Customer Driven Design, Through to Production Ready Outputs, with a Strong Focus on Client Satisfaction and the Realisation of Evolving Customer Requirements into Manufacturing Solutions


  • Design of Bespoke 3D Models
  • Creation of 2D Production Drawings
  • Client/Sales Team Liaison to Identify Design Requirements
  • Specification and Creation of Associated BOM’s
  • Flat Pattern Development of Sheet Metal Enclosures
  • Nesting and Post Processing
  • Supporting Sales & Production Teams in Achieving Targets and Outputs

REQUIRED (Essential)

  • Experience of Working with Precision Sheet Metal Products
  • Experience of Working in a CAD Environment to Create 3D Models and 2D Production Drawings
  • Experience of Working with CAM Software to Produce Machine Programs
  • Experience of Managing Targets, Achieving Goals and Project Management Skills
  • Experience with Flat Pattern Development of Sheet Metal Components
  • Good Understanding of Engineering Drawings
  • Ability to Produce Complex Assemblies to Ensure Fitment to Tight Tolerances
  • Experience of Working within a Quality Management Standard (Minimum to ISO 9001)
  • Good Communication Skills, Able to Establish and Maintain Effective Contact with Customers on Quality Related Correspondence
  • Strong Organisational and Decision Making Skills
  • Proficient in IT Skills and Use of ERP Systems
  • Team Player, Possessing Good Inter-Personal Skills with the Ability to Communicate to Staff at All Levels

REQUIRED (Desirable)

  • Experience of Autodesk Inventor CAD Software
  • Experience of RADAN CAM Software
  • Experience of InventorCAM Software
