We are a stylish furniture and homewares brand that seeks to bring elegant living to its customers. With 5 shops it is now looking to drive forward the eCommerce business, and ensure marketing on digital platforms underpins the commercial success and continuing growth of the brand.
The Buying Assistant / Product Assistant Opportunity:
We are looking for a Buying Assistant / Product Assistant to help with the development and delivery of our collection of luxury products. A self-starting individual, working alongside the Buyer on product development, the position would suit someone who is looking to progress in their career in supply chain management. Whilst an FMCG background is useful but not essential, you must be willing to learn, have excellent administration skills and superb attention to detail. Ideally with a passion for homewares, we are looking for someone who strives for perfection, can work on their own initiative and considers quality their primary concern.
Responsibilities of the Buying Assistant / Product Assistant include:
+ Working to the critical path to ensure timely delivery of stock
+ Optimising delivery terms and costs from suppliers
+ Managing sampling
+ Raising POs and checking order confirmations
+ Chasing deliveries and maintaining the delivery schedule
+ Setting up new products
+ Checking barcodes and packaging copy
+ Co-ordinating photo-shoot samples
+ Reporting quality issues to suppliers
+ Working closely with suppliers to ensure key development dates are met
+ Communicating any change in key dates to the business
+ Resolving any stock issues with the stores and warehouse
+ Weekly communication with the warehouse
+ Chasing suppliers for shipment documentation and submitting to forwarders on time
+ Preparing invitation lists for upcoming shows and fairs
+ Competitor analysis in terms of price points and offering
Buying Assistant / Product Assistant Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
+ Ideally degree educated with 2+ years’ experience in similar working environment
+ Familiarity with product development and time management
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft packages Word & Excel
+ Ability to manage own time effectively without supervision
+ Excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn
+ Good administration and communication skills
