Buyer (Manufacturing) Kingston - £35 000 - £40 000Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer with 3 years of experience in the manufacturing sector to manage the procurement of materials, components, and services. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source, negotiate, and purchase materials and services in line with company requirements.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to avoid supply shortages or overstocking.
  • Resolve supply issues and manage supplier non-conformance.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or just-in-time (JIT) principles.
