Brewster Pratap are currently working with a dynamic and fast moving business in Sheffield to recruit a Buyer. The Buyer will be responsible for the companies indirect purchasing, with a view to expand into raw material purchasing. The role will be responsible for looking after current contracts negotiating prices and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and internal departments. This is a very exciting opportunity for an individual who has at least 2 years Procurement/ Supply Chain experience and is looking to further their career in Purchasing.
Responsibility for the maintenance of equipment (both office and plant) and buildings.
All indirect costs including utilities, office and warehouse supplies, mobile devices and company vehicles.
This will include the assessment of service providers, associated administration and negotiation of contracts due for renewal.
The Assistant buyer will be responsible for setting the international freight rates on a monthly basis and ensuring that the company's imports are to arrive on time and within budget.
The Assistant Buyer will work directly for the Company Buyer and will assist in general purchasing duties. Including the processing of purchase orders through to delivery, and communicating with company stakeholders.
The candidate must have a high level of accuracy to perform system duties and maintenance, and to be able to support the Company Buyer by collating and formatting accurate information for tender purposes.
Continuously liaising with stakeholders across the business to assess demand
Processing purchase orders to suppliers in accordance with the organisations procedures
Responsible for the day to day running of the Procurement activities
Maintaining and updating of purchasing data
Sourcing new suppliers for goods and services to achieve best value and quality of service
Building and maintaining good relationships with new and existing suppliers
Identifying opportunities for cost savings and implementing improvements
- This is a full time permanent role that will suit an individual who is comfortable engaging a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.
- You must have at least 2 years buying experience
- Experience in Navision system (or similar) would be advantageous
- Total familiarity with MS word, Excel and Outlook is necessary
- Be a strong negotiator with excellent communication skills
- Excellent communication skills are essential in this role as you will be interacting with various stakeholders - both internal and external.
