You will assist the Purchasing Manager with planning and management activities involved in demand planning, sourcing, procurement, stock control and logistics management. This is a small team of two, so you will be involved in all the tasks in the purchasing department, getting a real opportunity to develop professionally.
Day to day tasks will include the raising of raw material and packaging orders, liaising with suppliers regarding stock availability and pricing, monitoring internal stock levels and periodic checks and reports.
This is a varied and challenging role which will suit someone with recent purchasing/buying experience, who has worked in a fast paced environment and who is used to working to tight deadlines.
A busy and all-round buying role which will encompass daily contact with our suppliers, operations team, sales support, technical and finance; so excellent communication negotiation and problem solving skills are essential. We are looking for capable, customer focused individuals who can work independently and as part of a team, whilst remaining flexible; someone who will assist with delivering our supply chain vision whilst looking for continuous improvement opportunities.
Resourceful, confident, commercially aware and enthusiastic you will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn, develop your existing skill set and excellence in purchasing.
You will be a strong team player with an organised and methodical approach to your work. Someone who is prepared to challenge the status quo, take on projects and with the drive and enthusiasm to help our business move to the next level. Excellent general IT skills, and experience of using MRP and ERP software such as SAP B1 are highly desirable.
