We are currently recruiting for a new and exciting Buyer role for one of our fast expanding clients

Key Aim:

Deliver purchasing projects in line with budget, resulting in cost reduction and supply chain improvements, plus administratively managing the ordering process.

Key Duties:

*To manage the requisition process for all non-production purchasing
*To ensure requisitions are in line with budget expectations, per cost centre, through
reports generated through an in house system and the authorisation process is followed
*To create purchase orders into the MRP system in accordance with company
*To liaise with suppliers to expedite delivery of products against lead times
*To liaise and keep internal colleagues updated on progress of purchase orders
*To ensure requisitions are in line with budget expectations per cost centre through
reports generated through the in house system
*To assist internal departments with quotations from the supplier.
*To lead projects specific for purchasing for the UK
*To support the UK with synergy projects relating to purchasing
*To take the lead in multiple-site supplier negotiations
*Take ownership of the UK savings plan and generate further opportunities to reduce
*Increase supplier contract coverage in the UK for suppliers
*Where possible consolidate the supply base across the UK for purchasing
*To ensure processes and procedures are followed for purchasing
*To identify methods of improvement within purchasing
*Provide the necessary KPI reports using PRISM
*Learn and adopt best practices from across the Group
*Comply with Company Quality, Health and Safety, Environmental and personnel
policies and procedures.
*To carry out any other reasonable duty or task as instructed

Requirements -


*5 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade A including English Language and Mathematics
*CIPS Qualified

Skills & Experience:

*Excellent communication skills
*Good negotiation skills
*Good interpersonal skills
*Systematic approach to workload
*Resilient temperament
*Good team worker
*Organised and able to manage priorities
*Flexible attitude towards work responsibilities, adaptable and confident manner
*Good knowledge of purchasing best practices
*Business/Customer and Performance orientated
*IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft Office applications.
*Use of ERP/MRP systems.

Other Requirements -

Successful candidate MUST have a full UK Driving licence as this role will involve travel throughout the UK
